Anyone else feel nostalgic for Hollywood squares?

Mia Grant will be in Woodinville, WA August 16-18 for a series of seminar dates.  Currently the working spots Friday and Saturday are full.  A couple of spots left in the 4 hour section on Sunday.  Mia taught “Reward!” at Power Paws this year and EVERYONE can benefit from more thoughtful rewarding to reinforce desirable behavior.

The courses this week are based on a Mirja Lapanja course.   The white squares International Course are her original design.

On the class courses in jumpers notice that we go through the same area several times, but the dogs are to go different directions afterwards.  How will this affect your cues?

Here’s this week’s offering.  I’m thinking of a “mini workshop” soon on contact criteria, what yours is, why you should have it, treasure it, and cherish it, and how to go forward if you find your self in the ring after having broken it.  Let me know if you’re interested!

This week we are going to work on skills!

Perhaps not as sexy as course work but everyone can use polish on their basics.

If you have a portable crate you can bring to class, please do. We will be doing lots of “fast and fabulous,” so dogs will want to stay close. You may also keep them on leash as long as they are not bothering the other dogs. There will be a couple of exceptions for some more sensitive dogs, so if that all worried you, you may have that dog and don’t worry, I’ve got ‘cha covered.

Straightforward courses this week.  Getting ready for AKC Nationals and taking the front sides of jumps with typical AKC spacing and challenges.

Jumpers only this week.  Should be fun!
